Feeding Your Friendly Bacteria

SPRING CLEANING

Cleaning up the yard and getting the fertilizer ready for a weed free and beautiful green lawn sounds good this time of year. This is similar to your internal body, we clean our homes, our cars, and our lawns, and sometimes obsessively cleaning, that’s great but what how about cleaning your insides like your gut?

Probiotis are the good bacteria in fermented foods like kefir and adding chia seeds support the population of your gut with immune boosting and to support your healthy microorganisms to thrive.

Here is a basic way you can introduce healthy bacteria into your gut and enjoy drinking it at the same time, guilt free.

                                            

Making 2 servings

Ingredients 1 cup coconut kefir, 1 cup of coconut milk, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, 1/4 cup chia seeds, 1 banana, 1 cup mixed berries, 1 cup fresh greens, mint leaf for garnish and powered cinammon.

Directions 1) Place the coconut kefir, coconut milk, vanilla, chia seeds, banana, berries and greens in the blender and turn on. Gradually increasing the speed, blending for 10-20 seconds. Pour into a desired glass and top it with the mint leaf and cinnamon, drink and enjoy. Cheers to a happy gut!

The gut brain connection

“Your gut is your first brain”.

 

Have you thought about what could be happening with your gut, can then happen to your brain. Are you feeding yourself or the trillion cells in your gut? If your craving and often eat processed sugary foods and starchy foods like donuts, chips, fries, cakes, cookies, potatoes, rice, breads and pastas to name a few than you might be feeding the sugar loving bacteria and yeast which can cause all kinds of problems in your body.

This can lead to something called “Intestinal permeability or Leaky gut syndrome.” It’s when holes or leaks develop in the lining between the small bowel and the blood vessels, where absorption begins, but with this issue absorption also becomes a problem. Factors that can cause this issue are frequent antibiotic use, development of sensitivity or an intolerance, exposure to man made chemicals and toxins such as tobacco smoke, and a poor diet high in sugar/starch foods.

Therefore if you have an issue with your intestinal lining, soon to follow is the blood vessels including the one that leads to your brain can likely to become an issue as well. A leaky GUT, leaky blood vessel, and a leaky BRAIN, can develop into leaky skin. Symptoms can start as simple as digestion issues, constipation, to rashes/ hives, joint pain then brain fog to fatigue, mood disorders, and eye issues. In the blood-brain barrier that provides an extra layer of protection for the brain against infecting bacteria will become less effective.

This is why “Intestinal Permeability or Leaky gut” is not just about gastrointestinal issue, it’s about your entire system and over all health.

Now that you know what foods to avoid to feed your unhealthy bacteria in your gut, you may think twice before buying that big bag of chips or the cookies at the grocery store.

USING REAL FOOD TO DETOX

         

Adding nutritious foods and quality supplements are a priority and a great way to implement changes that allow your body to detox naturally through dietary protocol. This process is essential to sustain quality of life. Therefore getting the toxins that are in your body out “better out than in” as they say, this is just as important as replenishing what is needed going in the body. Toxic load can be the big reason why your body’s metabolism and function has slowed down this process. Anxiety and depression

 Anxiety and Depression

This is a topic that can affect you either directly or indirectly. You may have a friend, a close family member, and or you may be going through the toughest time in your life and are suffering from anxiety and depression. In my area of work I’m working with people of all ages, sizes, race, cultural back ground, any occupation, and I have made a conclusion that when illness or symptoms arise, anxiety and or depression has already set in and grounded has itself.

It is something I take seriously, I also have many friends and family members that suffer from depression. Something must be really wrong with society in terms of our emotions, self esteem, self image, and spiritual aspects that lead to fear and cause us anxiety. I’m very interested in the data from recent studies and the increasing numbers worldwide, and more so to understand individuals that have been down this path and have over come this disease.

                  

If you’ve fortunate enough not to know what anxiety or depression is, here’s some brief description. Anxiety attack can be described as intensely frightening and demoralizing. You may believe that you will need to end up in the hospital and or feel like your going to die, you have no sense of control, you may feel like your going crazy, you may of had only one panic attack or several of them. According to Dr. Reid Wilson panic attacks and anxiety disorders is accompanied by fear, which proceed by your thoughts. Depression comes from emotional turbulence and build up of emotional toxicity, like stress, anger, guilt, resentment, which starts to become your identity and can lead to chronic illness and additions.

New study by researchers at Australia’s University of Queensland, suffers world’s highest depression rates in the Middle East and North Africa. This determines the social and public health burden of the disorder of the world, it is the second-leading cause of disability using preexisting data.

What about North America? In fact in North America more individuals are suffering from mental disorders, especially in the United States. There are mood disorders like, anxiety, attention deficit/hyperactivity, and substance abuse. The average American has 47.4 percent chance of having any kind of mental health disorder over one’s entire lifetime, according to the National Institute of Mental Health. Depression is becoming a huge concern, the World Health Organization ranks depression as one of the most disabling disease, estimating from population studies shown approximately twenty percent of people will experience clinical depression during the course of their lifetime. Afflicting approximately 121 million people worldwide.

                                               

Eckhart Tolle, is German-born resident of Canada who wrote a number of books on spirituality including The Power of Now and A New Earth.  He is someone who’s endured anxiety and depression for much of his life and was in deep thoughts of ending his own life until age 29. He underwent an “inner transformation” that changed his life completely, as he explains in detail in his books about his transformation, he is a spiritual teacher and a public speaker. His books and teaching practices quieting the mind and changing the past negative pattern of your thoughts, he elaborates about self talk and the ego. He is an advocate for many people who are suffering, and inspires individuals who have hit rock bottom by giving them hope and ways ease in their mind.

Weather you want to stop suffering and want to lose weight, be a better athlete, tired of chronic pain/fatigue, want to improve your health, or you just simply want to get up in the morning and feel happy just because you deserve it. Then there’s no better time than now.

Frightening diagnosis

The Diagnosis

Waiting for the appointment date with the doctor was never so nerve racking until now. Every thought, every moment were thoughts of my life and everything I have to do, what’s going to happen to me, options for treatment aren’t pleasant or maybe there won’t be many options. Why me?  I was so scared and my mind was going crazy with so many thoughts, my mind was racing constantly.  As my doctor spoke and then I heard the result that I didn’t want to hear, all I heard after that was muffled buzzing sounds, walls spinning like in the movies and just saw her mouth moving. I felt my energy leave my body and I was in disbelief this was happening.

Whether your symptoms manifest physically by creeping up slowly over the years or like a lightning bolt on a sunny day.  Fear will try to become your best friend, as normal as it may seems accepting the friendship will not help you gain sight to what your course of action and options is to heal and improve your state of health and balance again.

Stop for a moment and think, really catch your self for a moment of what your thoughts are, if it is true that your biography becomes your biology, would you want that thought to come true? If the thoughts are hurt, revenge, anger, guilt, resentment, blame, pity and FEAR. How do you think this is going to help your body’s recover?

Changing your life long thought patterns is not easy, acknowledging them is the first step and may be the root cause of issues and illness. What do thoughts have any thing to do with my diagnosis? Everything, and practicing your mind and attitude at this stage is a good time to change and work with a health practitioner with knowledge and experience that can coach you and direct your new patterns of thoughts that shape your mind, body back into balance and wellness. Do it for the most important person, you!

How does this sound to you?

“There is no reason for me to struggle in any of this, I can beat this, I’m not going to let this get the better of me, I’m not ready yet, I will triumph over this.” When you feel relief, you have lessened you resistance, when this happens physical manifestations will no longer matter. The art of allowing and enjoying the moment as though well being has already happened and you have detached from fear and focus off the diagnosis. Fear and doubt will try to be friends with you time and time again but you always have total control over your thoughts and how it makes you feel. Changes in recovery will not happen over night, practicing how you are feeling, slight improvements, taking it day by day, patience of the transition period. Obvious evidence in your physical body of improvements stems from your thoughts that improved emotions, and the will to prioritize nutrition to feed your cells, life style and your life will change in a different direction.
